Beyond the meals, the whole hotel is dedicated to helping you recover. Our relaxation area features a heated indoor swimming pool, a jacuzzi and an infrared sauna, open every day from 7.00 am to 11.00 pm — ideal for easing tension before or after exercise. The fully equipped gym and the outdoor multi-sports pitch allow you to warm up, keep fit or cool down at your own pace.

To take your recovery a step further, two facilities are available at an additional cost: the hydromassage bed and the spa bath, perfect for relaxing your muscles after an intense day of sport.

The hotel also offers a large free car park, a real bonus when travelling with bags and kit. Eating well is part of training. At the Hôtel Causse Comtal, nutrition for sportspeople is not just a marketing gimmick: we adhere on a daily basis to the dietary guidelines set by the professional clubs we host. In practical terms, this means fresh produce (never frozen), a buffet-style service, healthy cooking methods — no deep-frying, no barbecuing, and no cooking with butter, olive oil or rapeseed oil — and low-calorie homemade sauces. We know how to cater for athletes’ specific nutritional requirements, including halal diets and special dietary restrictions.

The principles we follow:

• The day before the competition: a carbohydrate-rich meal with easily digestible starchy foods (pasta that isn’t too wholemeal, rice, semolina, homemade mashed potato), lean proteins (poultry, fish), cooked vegetables, and minimal fat and irritating fibre to aid digestion.
• On the morning of the event: an energy-packed, easily digestible sports breakfast, eaten early enough — porridge, sourdough and wholemeal bread, eggs, protein-rich dairy products, fresh and dried fruit, honey. No pastries or spreads.
• Before and during the event: a snack basket to take to the competition venue, to ensure you eat and drink at the right times.
